All necessary detection capabilities, such as a synchronous signal separation circuit, are integrated into a single microchip. The use of the microchip can simplify application circuits, and eliminate the need for adjustment. (Only two inputs are provided: video signal input and fsc signal input.) Our original method is used for distinguishing EDTV2 identification signals from normal video signals. Therefore the accuracy of identification is improved. The detection level is adjustable.
